In case anyone is wondering....

Yes, I am still alive. I've not been in a real good place in my head, so the WIP writing, as well as the blog writing is not something that is going well at all. It's best for anyone who visits this site if I don't write when my brain is in this place. Trust me on that one.

Well, that's all I should write today. Besides, I worked until about 45 minutes ago and my eyelids are about to slam shut.... Not used to those 12 hour shifts anymore.

Until next time...

Another must read!!

Ravyn's Flight by Patti O'Shea was excellent!! I wasn't disappointed at all. As always, Patti's talent with writing draws you right into the story. I struggled to put it down. Her decriptions bring the settings alive, allowing you to see a vivid picture in your head. The characters come alive. I highly reccommend picking up this book... along with all of her others. I have read every one of her books so far and am always anxiously waiting for the next. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

The first time I picked up one of Patti's books, it was The Power of Two. It was so strange. Prior to picking up that book, I had never read a futuristic or paranormal book. Now, I am hooked. And, it's even better if it is written by Patti. I've never enjoyed another futuristic or paranormal book as much as I've enjoyed any one of Patti's.

My advice, run out and buy it!

A busy day

Well unfortunately, I haven't done much on the WIP since I last wrote. Although I did get a little done. I didn't really have much time to work on in between work and other stuff going on. A late working day on Thursday, plus a little time snuck in there to read Patti's book ;) Another long day Friday and then going to hear my dad sing last night pretty much took up all of the day. By the time I got home, I had a massive migraine and there was no way to write at 2am with a migraine... at least not coherantly.

This morning, I had a list of things I wanted to do today, so before I moved out of bed, I allowed myself to read 1 more chapter in Ravyn's Flight. A most excellent book I must say!!!!! Anyhow, I then got ready to go out and clean my truck. And I mean CLEAN my truck. Inside and out, was hosed down (thank God for easy wash flooring inside). I completely detailed it. It simply sparkles now!!! And, I love my pretty truck, but there is an issue I have with the running boards. Since it was sitting in the flood water in GA last year, the running boards had really started to rust badly. So, I hopped in my pretty truck and ran down to the hardware store. When I came home, I was raring to go. With my wirebrush, putty knife and sandpaper in hand, I smoothed out the rough spots and ground down the really bad areas. Then out came the paint and paintbrushes. I changed the color of the running boards, but I think it looks even better now. I went from flat grey to glossy black. It contrasts really well with the red metallic finish on the body of the truck. I just put my second coat on and finished cleaning up. If I was smart, I would have waited until after scouring the running boards to wash the outside of my truck, since there are now all kind of dust around the bottom of the doors, but I figure that after the paint is all dry tomorrow, I can hose off the dust and actually put the wax on that I haven't yet applied.... I knew there was a reason I waited to wax it :P

Since I only have a couple more chapters of Patti's book to read, I'll probably finish that first, before I go back to the WIP, but I also plan to stay up pretty late tonight, so that I can get some work done on the WIP. I think I have sort of been putting it off because I just switched POV to the hero and he doesn't seem to be talking to me yet. At least, not since the writer's block began. The heroine's came back pretty quickly, but he's being more stubborn. I may have to beat him into submission tonight. ;)

Until next time....

FINALLY!!!!

I did it!!! I wrote 5 pages last night on the WIP!!!! I think I have finally moved past the wicked writers block I was having. The part that I first wrote last night needs a little work on the transition, but I'll get back to that when I get solidly back in my writing groove. Until then, I'll bask in the 5 pages I was able to get down in just an hour. I rewarded myself with a couple of chapters from Ravyn's Flight but I had a really hard time putting it down. But, I had to get up early this morning for work. I hope to reward myself again tonight.... if I manage to write again.... *crosses fingers*

Wish me luck.

It's official

We just found out today that my brother will be married in October. It'll be strange. I just hope his finacee knows what she's getting into... hahaha. Nah, I guess he is not so bad anymore.

Other than that, there really isn't much new going on with me. Over the weekend, I read all of the stories that I had written in college, as well as all the ones that were written by my roommate, Peanut. I think I got a crick in my neck from all of the cringing I did while reading. But, I did manage to get a few good laughs too. The bonus, I think I want to really sit down and work on the WIP. We'll see how that works. I've been stuck for so long, it is intimidating to try to pick it up again.

I also FINALLY, got my copy of Ravyn's Flight, Patti O'Shea's first book, that I have been trying to get my hands on for a couple of years now. That is kind of tempting me away from the WIP, but I think I'll save it for my reward when I get some work done on it. It's gonna be tough, but I've been wanting to get back to the WIP for so long and just haven't been in the right mindset. I'm still not really in the right mindset, but maybe, just maybe.

Wish me luck.
