4 days 'til Grad!

It has been a busy couple of weeks! I passed test 3 with flying colors and am now preparing for tomorrow's test 4.... the final written test down here. One of many tests tomorrow.... 1st thing in the morning is our instructor's version of Fight Club.... basically we fight until we puke... at least that is his goal (half of the other class puked [they only got through half the class] and 3 people are now in crutches.... somehow I don't think this is looking too good for me). Immediately following that is the written test, lunch, shooting and then our final exam for defensive tactics. I figure I'll be asleep by 4:45 tomorrow (hopefully I'll be off the bus at my room before I fall asleep). We have a total of 4 tests this week, and all but 1 is a physical test. Graduation is THURSDAY!!!! Then it is off to MD!

In fun news, we went to Jacksonville last weekend and had a blast, then yesterday, we drove to St. Augustine. We walked around the town and through the Castillo de San Marcos. It was really awesome and I got a few good pictures. It feels like you've been transported to another time there. We saw the Ripley's museum, but didn't have the time to go in... that would've been neat. But, I highly reccommend checking out St. Augustine, FL when you get a chance

Only 7 days of training in GA

Thank goodness we are almost done down here. I really need a good long nap! I've been busy, busy, busy. There hasn't really been much down time at all. Like tonight, we aren't finished until after 10pm, and we had formation at 7am.... that makes for a really long day! This last couple of weeks is packed full of labs and graded written and physical exams. It's going to seem to take forever. I passed the 4th Amendment test... that was supposed to be the hardest written exam. So that is one less hurdle to go through from now until next week.

The knee is getting slowly better. I managed to go most of the last couple of days without having a brace on. Finally! I hadn't been able to take a step without a brace on for about a week and a half. I really hate that! I was able to do part of our PT test. It was a test to see where we are in relation to where we need to be for the test when we gat back to MD. I improved, but not enough. I would need a miracle to pass the test in MD. But, I'm still gonna try. If nothing else, this was a great training experience for me and a good thing to put on my resume. I picked the hardest job to get into both intellectually and physically.... my body just won't let me do the things it use to. I did too much damage while I was dancing.

There are a hundred different agencies that train here and in other parts of the world. I'll just use a different alleyway to get where I want to be. This isn't the only agency out there. I'll get there, some how and some way. Of that, there is no doubt in my mind. And, I certainly won't mind being a plumber again for a few months while I am applying to other agencies. I miss getting dirty.

Knee update

Well, the doctor has no clue as to what is wrong with my knee. Why doesn't that surprise me? The doctor says that he has never heard of anyone's knee going numb. Considering what he was asking me at my last appointment, I don't have much faith that he knows what he is talking about. They are going to limp me through the last couple weeks of training. Hopefully I'll be ok by the time I arrive for my next 13 weeks of training back in MD.

On a happy note, I passed my baton exam. Had a little too much fun with that, but hey I gotta get my fun somewhere, right? Well, to keep my happy note going, I need to study for my written test.

2 and a half weeks left

Well, with under three weeks left in my training in GA, I am back on restriction and spending more time at the doctor's office than I've ever done. Same knee, new issue. It's now going numb on me. And, they are running some tests to figure out why, but so far "it's all in my head."

This week, I have a written test (the hardest of the 4 tests) and a practical exam in Baton Control. We also get to blow some stuff up, so that should be a good time. I'll also be pulling people over the night before our test. That oughta be fun.

I'm getting ideas for my WIP (especially while laying in the MRI tube unable to move for what felt like hours). But, I haven't had the chance to work on it at all. I HATE THAT! I've pretty much thrown out the goal sheet I made a couple weeks ago (if I didn't, I'd be 50 pages behind my goal at this point, going for 70). I am hoping to get some work done on it today, but I have to start cracking the books for this week's test, so we shall see.

Well, the sooner I get started, the more time I'll have for my WIP. Have a great week all, and hopefully, I'll be back soon with another update.

Uh oh... I was bored.

Me and boredom don't mix. And, after the busy weekend I just had, it is surprising. But, I did get bored. For those that don't know, when I get bored, something always happens to my hair. It either changes color or length (drastically). Well, I broke out the scissors this time. Bye bye long hair. I feel much lighter now. And there is about a foot of hair in my trash can. That was the excitement for the weekend.

It was a busy week with lots of afterhours and 6 hours of PT on friday afternoon. We had a flood on Thursday... and another one on Friday. Many, many cars were totaled. Mine is high enough that it only had some cosmetic damage from the TORNADO that hit. And, it was only a tree branch or something that hit. The damage is minor, so I am very thankful for that. Especially considering the damage to the other vehicles in the lot. The facility is refusing to pay for the damages that they originally said they would pay for. Which sucks. Especially because they knew the storm was going to hit and they wouldn't let us go out and move our cars before the water got high. Some cars were completely submerged up to their roof.

I've got another busy week, including a test tomorrow that I should be studying for right now, so I had better go. Will try to update soon. Have a great week all.

Morning all.

Well, it is before 9am on a weekend and I am awake. I think that there should be a law against this. Actually, I started waking up at about 6am. But when I looked at the clock, after saying that this was insane, I rolled over and forced myself back to sleep. A major downfall from getting up at unGodly hours every other morning of the week.

We lost another recruit this week. She was horsing around in the swimming pool with some guys in the other half of our class and smacked her head off of the bottom of the pool. She had to be rushed to the hospital 2 nights in a row over it (Remind me never to go to that hospital, they are idiots... They sent her home the 1st night and she wasn't able to WALK on her own!). She has a concussion. She'll be able to restart her training when she is medically cleared, but she has to start over from scratch. And, the next class doesn't start until the end of January. So we are now down to 19 in our class.

The girl who was sent home (M) was good friends with another girl in my class (J). And, now that she was sent home, J is calling me to do stuff all the time. Which is fine, but she's trying to replace M with me. M used to let her dress her up and do her makeup when they went out at night. Now, J is trying to do that to me. Hell NO! Last time I checked, I wasn't a Barbie doll. And, I have no intention to be! She walked into my room Friday night and said "oh no, you can't wear those shoes with that outfit." I don't do the fashion thing. At home, I threw on whatever fell out of my closet first. Since I don't have a closet here, I put on whatever pops out of my dresser first. I don't like being anyone's replacement. And, J has a problem being by herself. She needs to be around people all of the time... she needs constant attention when she is with those people. Me, I am more than happy in a room all by myself. I could go days without seeing most people. If she thinks I'm going to spend every waking moment with her, she's sorely mistaken. I would go NUTS!... ok, I'm already nuts, but that is beside the point.

Yesterday, I went to the bookstore down here to pick up a couple of books that were to be released this month.... For as big as this bookstore is, they didn't have half of the books I was looking for, but they did have The Night Before Christmas, a book written by Lori Foster, Erin McCarthy, Jill Shalvis, Kathy Love, Katherine Garbera and Kylie Adams. Before I went to bed last night, I picked it up. And was hooked. I read Lori Foster's story "White Knight Christmas," "Snowed Under" by Erin McCarthy, and "Ms. Humbug" by Jill Shalvis. They are all great stories. In fact, I can't wait to finish this update, so I can get back to the book and read the other 3 stories. I highly recommend that you go out and buy it if you haven't already! It's great for me since I don't really have a lot of time to read. I could pick one story and read it, rather than try to read a whole book.... at least that was the plan, 'til I got sucked in and couldn't put it down.

OK, now that I talked about the book, my fingers are itching to pick it up, so I'm gonna sign off now.
